A midsummer nights dream
This photo shoot was such a very exciting project to be a part of. Lauren from Bluebird Creative wanted to create a Midsummer Night’s dream inspired styled shoot. When I listened to the concept Lauren had created, I felt that my aesthetic and floral style could really breathe elegance into this look. To contribute to this shoot was a definite yes!
It was a joy choosing the colours and ingredients to create texture and interest and I also experimented with dried flowers to add to the final designs. Mixing the dried with the fresh created elegant flower designs but with a contemporary touch. And with the risk of repeating myself, texture. I mixed large blousy peonies and other larger flowers with the more dainty Queen Anne's lace amongst others, so that I got a range of different sized flowers - all for balance.
The venue was the beautiful Hampton Court House which not only boasts the most incredible rooms but also an exquisitely decorated sea shell grotto. This mysterious grotto is covered in shells of all shapes in sizes and was built in 1767 by the 2nd Earl of Halifax. The most incredible structure and all involved, gasped in delight when the doors slammed open and all was revealed.
Lauren carefully chose her suppliers and together we created this exciting concept, later published in Love My Dress. To read more about how we created this styled shoot and to see all the images, click on the link below
